So, he spent a bit of money. Ok, he spent a lot of money. It was well worth it though. With the sun shining, it was only halfway through the day when Markos came walking up to Tara's mansion on Storm's back, his gray stallion. With a rope in his free hand, and a pretty little golden mare attached to that rope, he walked slowly, right up the walkway with his steed and new found princess horse.
One servant was outside, staring in awe as Markos approached. Mark looked down at the servant, smiling and asking for him to fetch Tara for him. Markos was a very polite and charming man, and he took a liking to little miss Calder. He was a show stopper and he attracted a lot of attention coming over to the Calder's mansion. Especially with a expensive looking horse walking behind him.
He had gotten it for Tara, after hearing about her father selling her mare, Markos just had to get her another. It was nothing, just a little gift. She needed something to carry her to the place Markos was going to show her today anyway. So he needed to get her a horse, it was necessary. He smiled to himself, knowing she would probably be mad at him for doing this, he didn't care. He knew she would be ecstatic too.

"Miss Calder!" shouted the young maid excitedly, running up to the lounge where Tara sat with her mother and grandmother, forced to listen to them talking and bickering over a cup of tea. All of them looked up at the maid, similar expressions on their faces, brows knitted together in wonder and confusion.
The maid stopped for a moment to catch her breath, working on regaining her composure. "Mr. Harper is here to see you, miss," she said, hardly able to contain the smile that crossed her face. "He comes bearing gifts..." Tara was still for a moment, her eyes shifting to her mother and grandmother who both shooed her, urging her to go to the young man.
Jumping to her feet, Tara rushed to the window, pulling back the curtain to peer out at whatever on earth Mark could have brought her that would excite the maid so. "He didn't..." she said, gasping in surprise. Pulling away from the window, she practically ran down the steps, taking a moment behind the door to regain her composure. Opening up the front door and heading out onto the front step, she stood there, hand resting lightly on the post on the porch, an almost mysterious smile on her face.
"I do believe you've lost your mind, Markos," Tara said, though a pretty smile crossed her face. She was fond of him, it was true, and she couldn't keep the smallest of blushes from her face. She was gorgeous, wearing a sage green colored dress, her curls flowing freely down her back, her shoulders exposed by the dress. She couldn't help but play with the silver necklace about her neck, her hazel eyes on him. A horse... what was he thinking?

Markos let out a big smile when she opened the door, he could only imagine what the maid had said to Tara. He let Storm walk a few paces forward, hooves clicking on the cobblestone. The golden mare stepped out from behind the stallion and came up next to him, so Tara could get a better look at her. The horse was marvelous, coat gleaming, mane and tail perfect. She was elegant, sleek and charming, a perfect mare. She cost Mark a pretty penny, but it was fine, his family had plenty of pretty pennies to spend. "So maybe I have, but it doesn't matter. I don't need my mind where we are going." He said, dismounting off of Storm, still holding the rope.
He walked the golden mare forward, her hooves hitting so lightly on the walkway as she came up to Tara, "Would you accept my gift?" Asked Markos, a hopeful look in his hazel eyes. "I have plans for today, and without a mare Tara, those plans won't work out too well," he said smiling wide.

Tara watched him approach her and she was so tempted to just hug him... but she knew that her nosy mother and grandmother were probably peeking there noses through the curtain and watching them... Considering their situation though, they would probably be overjoyed that Tara was getting so close to this man.
Stepping down off the front step, Tara let her hand slip from the post, going forth to observe the animal. "She's gorgeous," she said, eyes slipping to Mark. She looked back to the mare, biting her lip the slightest bit. "You really shouldn't have," she said to him... though of course she wanted this. "Where are you planning on taking me?" she asked him, by way of accepting his gift. Her cheeks were flushed and she was doing her best to contain her excitement.
