There was a lot of giggles. But what else would you expect when you have a group of girls sneaking away from the school together and out into the forest? It was past their designated bedtime... but did this stop them? Hell. No. If anything, all these rules drove these young women to the edge, making them rebel. After all, what was life without a few risks?
"Shhhh," Mercy said, trying to get all of the girls to be quiet, though she too had in fact been giggling and there was still a hint of laughter in her shush. They had only just slipped by the grounds keeper and she didn't want to get caught when they were so close to freedom. You would think that Mercy out of all people would have backed out of this, but no. Even after the incident with Tyler and the strange man and the incident with the man who had bitten her, she was still game for sneaking out of that prison.
It was a clear night outside, the stars shining up over the treetops. It was a little... well, spooky out there, but they had a lantern to light their way. Not to mention, the fear just added to the incredible adrenaline rush. Mercy was a drop dead gorgeous girl, her long brown hair flowing down her back in perfect curls. She wore a pretty, white nightgown, lifting it up to about her knees so she didn't get it caught on anything. Her feet were bare, but she didn't care. She was enjoying this too much. "Turn on the lantern, I can't see," she said, figuring it was safe to turn on the light by now.
"Alright, give me a second..." The lantern came on, lighting up so that you could see Tara's face as she held it up. Tara was another gorgeous girl, her long brown curls flowing nicely over her shoulder and down her back. She too wore a white nightgown, though her eyes were a gorgeous, deep shade of hazel. The bottom of her nightgown was getting dirty, so she too lifted it a little, but with one hand. "Did anyone hear that?" Tara said, heart in her throat as she listened... whew... just an owl... She too could feel it. The rush of adrenaline... it almost made her body quake in excitement. The walked along the path, searching for the lake or pond that was supposedly in the forest. "Are you sure you know where it is?" Tara asked Mercy, arching a slender brow. "Of course. I've been there before. Now hurry... do we have everyone? Don't get eaten by the bears...

"There are no bears out here....are there?" Laughter followed her question. She sounded like a scared little girl. Well, she was a bit nervous. But she was still having fun, and this was definitely making up for school. That place was just horrid. Her mother had come to live with her, and after seeing how 'free' she was living, and meeting men all on her own, her mother shipped her tiny little arse to school, to make her proper again. 'Proper my ass.' She thought to herself. She jumped at the owl and grabbed on to Mercy's arm. "Sorry." She said in a hushed voice. She raised her head to look for the owl, like she would find it in this darkness, and not looking where she was going tripped a little on a root. "Bloody hell." She cursed under her breath.
She used her hands to pick up her night gown, her bare feet walking through the slightly damp grass. She had only been at the school for a short time, barely even a few days. She had met Mercy in one of her etiquette classes, and she had invited her on this midnight adventure. Since Liv didn't know anyone she figured this would be a good place to make friends, and to feel free for one night. The windows almost literally had bars on them. The other girls behind giggled at something, making Liv jump slightly. "Shh. The bears will hear you." The last three words almost lost in laughter. Her long brown hair hung over her shoulders, bouncing slightly as she walked, the glow of the lantern lighting just enough for them to see in front of them. She had to admit, this was exhilarating.
She hadn't told any of these girls about the boy she had met in the park. And her stomach did flips just thinking about gossiping about him. Perhaps tomorrow night, or when they get back. Too bad he hadn't been there to catch her as she tripped this time. Funny, she never thought of herself as being clumsy. The owl hooted a second time, sending all the girls screaming followed with fits of giggles and laughter.

Laurel, as giggly as the next girl on most days, was perhaps a bit less giddy than the others tonight. She was feeling sullen, having not seen Eric in days, and she hadn't received a reply to her last letter, either. She was getting positively moody. She did, however, shriek with everyone else as the owl hooted and scared them out of their wits.
"Shush," she said, giggling now too. "We're going to get caught!!" Her British accent stood out from the other girls' voices. She too was barefoot, and just as they began to quiet down, she stepped on a jagged rock and swore. "Blast!" She hissed. She picked up her scraped foot and touched it with her fingertips, only to find that it was bleeding just a bit. "Great," she muttered. "But I will not be slowed!" She declared very grandly. She dissolved into giggles once again and followed the other girls.
Dancing out in front of them all, she spun about in the open moonlight, arms out to the sides. In her right hand was a smallish object that the other girls would soon discover to be a vial of bourbon that she had stolen from the chimney sweep that had come earlier in the day. "I brought you all a little present," she said wickedly, holding the bottle up in the moonlight. With a very grand gesture, she pulled the stopper out of the neck of the vial and took a long swig. The amber liquid burned like fire going down her throat, but the warmth that flowed through her, blossoming in her middle, made it worth it. "Who is next, ladies?" She taunted, holding the bottle out and wagging it in front of her companions' faces.

Shay was swift, dodging trees as she ran through the forest. It was very pitch, but that wasn't a problem for her enhanced vampire senses. She had no need to pick up her skirts, for she was merely wearing a nightgown. There were advantages of living only at night, sure. Yet there were so many cons of being a vampire, that it didn't really count. Shay stopped abruptly, listening for sounds. Had she heard something? She listened again, to make sure. Yes, she had. There was definitely something else in the forest. It was perhaps a mile or two away? She couldn't tell. But it definitely wasn't an animal. Surely an animal wouldn't make so much noise?
Shay ran in the direction of the sound, being careful as to not make noise. She had no trouble doing so, as long as she avoided stepping on twigs and fallen branches. Pausing, she listened again. The noise was louder now. It seemed as if it was merely twenty feet or so away from her. Her ears picked up a drunken voice and she crouched, curious to hear what it was saying. It couldn't be dangerous. Maybe she would recognize it. "Who is next, ladies?"
Shay stiffened. It was a group of girls, taking a midnight walk in the woods. It was reckless to frolic about in the woods. Especially at night. Of course, they didn't even suspect that there was danger lurking in the shadows. They didn't know what would happen if they ever met this danger. The danger was hidden amongst the trees. It was always watching. The danger was her. Or rather, it was what she was. The creature she had become so long ago. Maybe there were good vampires out there. She was one of them. But even so, she couldn't trust herself to keep her cravings under control, most of the time. There were other vampires, who didn't even care enough to try.

Mercy jumped, squealing a little when Olivia grabbed a hold of her before letting out another giggle. She let out a mock gasp, seeing the bottle of bourbon Laurel had brought. "You naughty, naughty girl," Mercy said, seizing the bottle and taking a sip of it. A look crossed her face and she shuddered not very crazy about it... but she would drink it anyway, just to be rebellious. Handing it to Olivia, she continued on, feeling the warmth of the alcohol in the pit of her stomach.
She could have sworn she heard something out there... maybe it was just a deer. Finally, they came across the pond Mercy had been going on about. It was very gorgeous, especially with the way the moonlight shined over it. Sitting down on the ground, pretzel style/
Tara refused the alcohol, not because she had anything against it, but because she didn't really like it. She too sat down on the ground, starting their little circle and putting their lantern in the middle. "I'm going to be very angry if I get eaten by a bear," she said, a hint of a smile on her lips. "And I will come back to haunt all of you. She pulled her knees in to her chest, loving this exhilaration.

Liv took the bottle that Mercy had handed her, twisted the cap off, and took a swig. She felt the burn as it slid down her throat, filling her belly with warmth. She smiled and took one more sip of it before passing it over to Laurel. Liv didn't drink much, if at all, and the burn made her cough slightly, but she liked the feeling the alcohol gave her. She smiled and looked around at the other girls. She noticed Mercy looking off into the darkness as if she had heard something, Liv stood still, listening too but heard nothing. She returned her attention to the girls.
"Thanks for inviting me along. I really needed this. Makes me feel like a rebel." She laughed a little and plopped down next to Tara and Mercy, adding to the circle. She adjusted her nightgown over her crossed legs and let her fingers mingle in the grass, twirling the blades. She looked out over the lake, taking a deep breath. "This really is beautiful. Peaceful too, with a touch of mystery." Her thoughts mingled on Aiden, and she couldn't help herself indulging on some girl talk. "So, I um, met a boy the other day. He was really cute. Bluest eyes I have ever seen, sweet and most interesting." She giggled and ducked her head, a soft rose color coming to her cheeks. "I don't think my mother would approve of him, but all the more reason to make me interested huh?" She added, looking around the circle at the girls. A smile spread across her cheeks..."So, who has secrets?" Why not make things even more interesting. The bourbon was passed to her again, and she took a sip and passed it on, already slightly feeling the affects on her body.

"You are most welcome to join us anytime you feel like being the least bit rebellious!" Laurel said enthusiastically. She took another draw from the bottle of Bourbon as it passed her and shook her head as the burn subsided, her curls bouncing around her shoulders.
Laurel was an uncommonly pretty girl, though not in the traditional sense of the word. She was quite pale, with the brightest green eyes most people had ever seen. Her lips were full and pouty, even when she smiled, and her hair was a charming, fiery shade of red that set off her freckles to distinction.
Suddenly, she sat up, her back bone straight. "Did you hear that?" She asked, her voice sharp. "It sounded very close, did it not? I thought I heard a twig snap, or something like it." She rose from her place by the pond and crept a few yards into the trees, curious as to what could have made such a noise.
As she made her way into the line of the trees, she thought she saw a flash of movement. Perhaps it was just an animal? But no, it was too tall. Another student, perhaps, one who was also sneaking about tonight? She did not know, but it made her distinctly nervous to be alone. She turned and hurried back to the group of girls.
"I believe we should return to school," she said. "I don't think we're alone here."

"So, who has secrets?" Shay could hardly believe their ignorance. Did no one know about her kind? Perhaps that was a good thing, for her, at least. But not for the humans. They were so vulnerable. Shay stepped closer, and froze. A twig snapped beneath her feet. She hoped that the girls hadn't heard it. But she was wrong, of course. She always underestimated humans. She didn't even remember her humanity well.
"I believe we should return to the school. I don't think we're alone here." Shay agree with them. But she had to help them return safely. Trying to look sheepish, she stepped out of her hiding place. "I'm truly sorry. Did I frighten you?" Shay would improvize. Everything would be just fine. She would get them to back to the school. She widened her eyes, trying to look scared.
(OOC: I'm sorry it's so short!)
