She knew she shouldn't have been there, especially not alone, but since when did that ever stop Mercy Scarborough? She was a fiery and rebellious young woman and she didn't ever plan on changing. Just like she didn't plan on letting anything get between her and the man she was starting to fall for. She wasn't sure how they would make it work or if her parents would approve, but the one thing she did know is that she was head over heels for a certain Tyler Van Helsing.
It was a bit of an eerie day outside, but Mercy didn't care how gray the clouds were. She just wanted to see him. With him needing to work and her being in that god forsaken school, there was enough time in the day for them to see each other as much as she would want. Every chance she got, she was spending time with Tyler. It never felt like enough though... she wanted to be with him more and more every day.
She was wearing a pretty purple and black dress that revealed her perfect shoulders. She wore a pretty, silver crucifix about her neck, falling perfectly over her breasts. Her dark brown curls flowed brilliantly down her back and she looked simply gorgeous, the chilly breeze sweeping by and lifting strands of her hair. Her blue eyes were searching for him and only him, shooting looks at any man who so much as looked at her wrong. She knew she had to be careful... especially with that man out there somewhere. She didn't like the idea of running into him again.
As it was growing later in the day, she knew he had to be getting done with work some time soon. Shivering, she pulled the black shaw she wore around her a little tighter, trying to spot the face that would make her heart skip a beat and her stomach do back flips. "This doesn't seem like a good place for a pretty lady like you," she heard a voice say, turning her head to look at the man. He was well dressed, so she suspected he had money. But he had that look about him... the untrustworthy look... the kind of look that mob bosses usually have, well dressed, but with a sinister look beneath. "You need someone to walk you home, Miss?"
"No thank you," Mercy said, doing her best not to make a face. She turned her head away, still trying to spot Tyler. "I'm waiting for someone," she said, dying to see Tyler's face. "Are you sure, Miss? You couldn't possibly be waiting for someone here. You must be lost. I'll walk you home, where you belong." Mercy cocked a slender brow, giving him a dangerous look. "Where I belong?" she asked him, seeming to throw him off a little with her tone. She looked like she was ready to slap this man.

Tyler was finishing off his shift. It was chilly outside, and for once he wasn't sweating and hot. He was enjoying the colder air, whipping against his skin. It caused goosebumps, but at least he didn't have to worry about sweating. Tossing his coat over his shoulder, he looked behind him one more time, a smirk playing his face as he watched the rest of the idiots that had to work longer than him. His boss let him go early, one because Tyler always did what he was told, and finished his work faster than anyone. He needed money all the time and wasn't planning on fooling around. Less work equals, less pay.
Walking down the dock, he looked over into the bluish green ocean water, lapping up against the dockside. It cast a dark, gray kind of look because of the over cast of the sky, but Tyler couldn't look away from it. It reminded him of Mercy's eyes. He smiled at the thought, trying to think of when he would see her next. He has been careful about how much time he was taking away from work to see her, but he always fit in time. There would be no ignoring Mercy.
As he reached the end of the dock, he went to turn toward Lucas, who was tacked up instead of attached to his carriage. He stopped for a split second to look the opposite way, getting distracted by a women in a purple dress. A slow smile spread over his face when he realized it was Mercy. He started walking toward her, unaware of the man that was talking with Mercy. It was getting later, the sun wasn't visible because of the clouds, but it would be sun set at this time. "Mercy.." Tyler called out softly, reaching around her waist and pulling her into to him, giving her a hug.
He didn't care what people thought now, well... he wouldn't kiss her in public, but that was because he didn't want to get hit. People were so judgmental and Ty hated it more than anything else in the world. He took in her in, seeing the sour look planted on her face. "What's wrong?" he asked, looking away from her and looking around with an annoyed look on his face already. He didn't tolerate people harassing Mercy..

Mercy looked over at the sound of Tyler's voice, the look on her face not completely gone. She welcomed his arms around her, hugging him back. The man who stood nearby looked thoroughly surprised by this obviously wealthy woman's public display of affection for... for a worker. He cleared his throat and Mercy couldn't help but roll her eyes at the man. "Nothing, just the fact that I'm apparently not where I;m supposed to be... at home, where a lady belongs." She shot a look at the man again, obviously annoyed with him.
The man shifted in discomfort, wondering if he should do something about this man hugging the young lady... even though she didn't seem to have a single problem with it. "I'm sorry miss, I didn't mean to offend you..." he said, looking to Tyler and giving him this look, clearly wondering how someone as poor as him had landed a lady like this. Mercy sighed and looked up to Tyler. "Walk with me?" she asked him, choosing to ignore the ignorant fool.

Tyler looked in the direction of the man, whom Mercy was talking about. He saw the expensive clothing and sneer a pon his face, and Tyler could only roll his eyes too. He did not say a word though, he didn't want to be the stereotypical poor man with a bad temper and sailor mouth. His green eyes strayed from the man when Mercy asked for a walk. Only a smile could fall over Tyler's face. "Of course." He said simply, shooting a look back at the man. He might have the money, but Tyler has the best looking girl in town. With that he turned, taking Mercy's arm and walking away from the man.
After walking down the street, Tyler turned to Mercy and asked, "It is getting late. I found it surprising to find you out here, not that I am agreeing with that man back there." he said with a charming smile. He knew Mercy well now, and he realized he shouldn't be surprised to find here out, almost at dusk. He thought she would have been more careful though, after her attack with that man who bit her. Tyler got the chills whenever he thought about it.

Mercy held onto Tyler's arm, walking close to him. "Well I had to see you," she said to him, glancing at him with that small, pretty smile on her face. "Don't worry, I was careful." She knew what he was thinking, but she didn't mention it out loud. It wasn't something she wanted to talk about. That man had scared the hell out of her that night and the though made her grip Tyler's arm a little tighter, because for some reason, knowing Tyler was close by always gave her great comfort.
"How was your day?" she asked him, looking over to him with her gorgeous blue eyes. She always liked to ask him how his day was. Why? Because she was Mercy. She cared about him... a lot. Every time she saw that charming smile of his, a blush would cross her face and she'd feel those damn butterflies in her stomach. Her heart would flutter and she was always getting lost in those green eyes of his. She wanted to be with him so badly, her heart aching for it. Just as her heart ached to feel his lips on hers.

Tyler smiled at her, smiling even wider once she squeezed his arm more.He shook his head at her, when she said she would be careful. "My day..." he sighed, thinking back through out the day. "Nothing special, same as always. So I guess you could say it was a good day." He said. As he led her, he started walking toward Lucas. "Have you ever rode side saddle?" He asked with a hint of amusement in his green eyes. He led her to the side of Lucas, and the black horse turned his head, snorting lightly in greeting. "I'd walk you home, but that would involve me leaving Lucas here by himself, and he would be very upset if I left him." He said, patting the black horses neck.

Mercy walked with Tyler to the horse, happy to hear he'd had a good day. "On occasion," she said to him when he asked her if she had ever ridden side saddle. "But only when forced to..." She smiled sweetly to him and you could see a slight gleam in her pretty blue eyes. Mercy didn't ride horses much, but she did from time to time.
As it was growing later, less people were walking about and Mercy glanced around or a second to ensure that nobody was watching them. With the coast clear and the rather large animal standing beside them, Mercy stood on her toes and gave Tyler a soft, but fleeting kiss on the lips. She'd been dying to do that. A slight blush crossed her face as she pulled away, but she had a pretty, almost shy smile on her face. "Sorry..." she said, though you could tell she wasn't sorry at all, especially with that gleam in her eye.
