Juliette sat under the shade of a weeping willow. Or rather, where the shade should have been. The sun wasn't out that particular morning, and she thanked the clouds for it. The rain had blocked out all the sunshine, and vampires were free to walk the streets. Not that many of them dared. Fear kept them indoors. What if the clouds cleared? They would become a pile of ash. Even Shay hadn't dared to step out. She had tried to keep Juliette from going. For once, her pleas did not affect Juliette.
She was determined to make the best of the day, so she had her notebook out, paired with ink. She wore a casual blue corset. It was nothing fancy. In fact, her whole wardrobe wasn't. She wasn't one to show herself off, even in her human days. She hated that men thought of her as a mere ragdoll. It was as if she never crossed their mind. It was all about money, image, and social status. At leat she had no need to worry over that anymore. She wasn't rich. She wasn't worth looking at.
Sighing, she gathered her supplies. Perhaps she would go back to the house. She has in no mood to write any more. As she stood up, her notebook slipped from her hands. She groaned and knelt to pick it up, putting down her other things.

Luke had been taking a walk, thinking things over in his head. He and his father had gotten into an argument again about Lucas taking over the family business. And although Luke feels himself wearing thin, and ready to give up, he felt it was just too soon. When his father has more difficulty handling things, then Luke will step in. But for right now, his father is doing just fine. He kicked a few pebbles as he walked, his thoughts turning to Krys. He liked that girl a lot, but he was not a man ready to settle down and be too serious yet.
As he was walking and looking around the park, he noticed one girl sitting under a tree, with a notebook and pen in hand. He stopped walking and looked at her for a minute. She didn't dress too fancy, nothing too revealing, she dressed rather plain actually. But her face was soft, with dark eyes and dark hair, she was still pretty. Luke smiled and started to walk over to her, but she began to rise. He was about to open his mouth and say hello when she dropped some of her things. He wondered over, bent down and picked them up before she could.
"Here you go miss. Would be a shame to dirty that page. I'm Luke." He smiled at her, reaching over to hand her back her things. "A pretty thing like you should not be alone, or sitting under the clouds." He gestured to the cloudy skies, smiling back at her. Why not have a little fun, get to know someone. After all it will help him get his mind off of his father and the fight they had had. "What were you writing?" He asked, interested.

"Here you go miss. Would be a shame to dirty that page. I'm Luke." Juliette looked up, and a rather handsome man handed her the notebook she had dropped. She felt slightly surprised, but she was grateful to him. It's wasn't like handsome men fazed her anymore, since she had seen more than enough of them. They weren't all that special. He was just a typical, rich, ladies man. Even at that, Juliette had to admit that did have rather intriguing blue eyes. "Thank you." The words were quieter than she would have wanted them to be. At least her could hear her. She was always soft-spoken. Shay was the one with a loud voice, and attitude. "I'm Julie." He hadn't given her his full name, so neither did she.
She realized she was still kneeling. She stood up, dusting the journal off, then herself. The journal had been a gift from her father- you could see that from the clasp. It was real gold. But no one noticed, of course. They would think it wasn't, due to her low status. Luke spoke again, and she brushed back a lock of hair. It was always in her face. "A pretty thing like you should not be alone, or sitting under the clouds." She straightened her spine. Another man to judge her. Wonderful. "I prefer it, actually, Luke. It calms me down." She sighed. It was true. She had never been one to go to parties or- have fun, really. But why was she telling a stranger this?
"What were you writing?" Luke asked, interested. Juliette blushed. It was a very faint pink, but it was noticable. Vampires couldn't turn death red, and that was very, very good for Julie. Then her stammers began. She never showed her work to anyone, not even her sister. "It's nothing." She shook her head, forcing a smile. Unfortunately, she wasn't a very exceptional actress. Her emotions were always spewn across her face, and this time, her features showed embarassment and uneasiness. She hoped it wasn't too noticable on her face.
